Summit HVAC Named Top Contractor by Local Chamber

DENVER, Colo., Sept. 22, 2026 — Summit HVAC was named Contractor of the Year at the Denver Chamber of Commerce's small business awards, honoring the company for its same-day repair guarantee and for an apprenticeship program that has trained 38 technicians since 2019. The award was presented at the chamber's annual luncheon.

Summit HVAC guarantees a repair technician at the door within 24 hours of a service call on residential heating and cooling systems, and tracks arrival times publicly on its website. The company says it met that guarantee on 97 percent of calls in the past year.

"The apprenticeship program is the part of this business I am proudest of," said owner Marcus Hale, who founded Summit HVAC in 2008 with one van. "Thirty-eight people learned a trade here, and most of them are still on our trucks."

The four-year apprenticeship combines paid on-the-job training with coursework at a local community college, and graduates earn EPA certification. Seventeen of the company's 52 employees came through the program, including three current service managers. Summit HVAC pays tuition and supplies tools for every apprentice.

"Contractors that train their own people are the ones still standing after a slow winter," said Alicia Moreno, president of the Denver Chamber of Commerce. "Summit has done it seven years running."

Summit HVAC serves the Denver metro area and employs 52 people across service, installation and support roles.
